Large scale fabrics are beautifully showcased in this dynamic quilt. Diamonds and stars beautifully combined to make a bold quilt. In this class students will learn how to successfully make a quilt mixing and matching fabric substrates, how scale can play an important role in piecing, how to get the perfect y-seam, how to furl your pieces and how bias can work in our favor! As shown, this quilt is a large queen, but you can make it larger or smaller depending on the desired size you want. We will discuss how to size the quilt up, or down, in class.

Quilting with Heart: Making Quilts That Express Our Passions, Personality and Perspective
Kari started quilting 35 years ago, with the encouragement of her husband’s mother and grandmother. She has won numerous quilting awards in the Heritage Quilters of Huntsville Fanfare Quilt Show, and her quilts have been juried in both the AQS quilt contest in Paducah and the International Quilt Festival in Houston. Earlier this year, Kari’s 60th Birthday Quilt was featured in McCall’s Quilting magazine. Kari is a member of our guild and is very active in HQH, where she currently serves as its Programs Vice President and quilt show co-chair.
